Heavy Construction: Cranes, Excavators and Bulldozers

Hi, my name is Richard, and I have an obsession with heavy construction equipment. It all began when I was just a little kid. My dad used to work in construction, and he would sometimes let me visit the site he was working on. I was fascinated by these giant machines that could lift impossible weights, dig massive holes and demolish buildings in the blink of an eye. Even though I didn't go on to work in the construction business myself, I follow the industry very closely. I decided to start a blog so I had somewhere to share my thoughts. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Bobcat Attachments to Help You Landscape All Year Round

If you are an amateur or professional landscaper, a bobcat can be an indispensable tool. It works as a mini tractor — you just need the right accessories. To landscape all year long, here are some of the attachments you may want to consider:

Tiller Attachment

To break ground in the spring, a tiller attachment can be ideal. These attachments feature sharp teeth that bites into the soil, and a rotating mechanism that moves the soil through the tiller. You can also mount the attachment to the side to get a more effective angle for working near walking paths.

Root and Debris Rake

Tilling attachments can be relatively costly, and if you want to save a bit of money, you may want to check out a root and debris rake. These attachments feature a grate design. When you run the attachment through the soil, the roots, rocks and other debris get removed, and the soil gets sifted. This is a great tool for gardens that have already been tilled a previous year and just need a once over before the next planting season.

Brushcutter or Mower Attachments

If you have to get rid of a lot of brush, you may want to look into brushcutters for bobcats. These attachments can be helpful in weedy patches with rugged grasses. Alternatively, if you typically work with a relatively well manicured lawn, you may be fine with a mower attachment.

Sweeper

Sweepers are ideal for cleaning hard surfaces such as roads, driveways or walking paths. If you do a lot of landscaping, this tools makes it easy to clean dirt off areas near garden beds, and in the fall, you can use it to move leaves out of the way. For commercial landscapers taking care of a large area with a lot of walking paths, this attachment can be especially useful.

Stump Shredder

Ideal for professionals but super fun for anyone, a stump shredder or grinder is invaluable when you have an unwanted stump. You can use this tool immediately after cutting down a tree or to remove stumps that have been sitting there for years. This bobcat attachment grinds up the stump into useful wood chips that can be integrated into your landscaping design.

Snow Removal Attachments

Finally, during the winter if you live in an area with snow, you may want some snow removal attachments. These can include snow blowers as well as plows. They are helpful for moving snow from a range of outdoor areas.
